I received the following email request for help through the TOS website. Several of you are more qualified to offer help on birding in Memphis than I am. Any of you care to respond to them? Thanks, Chuck Nicholson Norris, TN _____ From: miranda Reed [mailto:miranda@xxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, July 24, 2006 1:21 PM To: info@xxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Bird watching in Tennessee Greetings from York England! Me and my husband are visitng Memphis in October (me for work, my husband as a companion) My husband has agreed to accompany me on the lure of the potential bird watching he could do. We are quite happy to hire a car, but clearly, having never visited the area before we would like some advice as to the best places for my husband (and occasionally me!) to visit. Ideally, these would be places where there is natural habitats, and not the usual tourist spots. Also, what are the best bird books to buy regarding the regions birds. We live in a beautiful spot in England, and would be happy to reciprocate for any visitors to York. (often a popular destination of US tourists!)
