I walked the big loop at Bell's Bend Park (Davidson Co.) this morning from 7:15 to 10:15. I was pleased to find 7 Henslow's Sparrows actively singing; one was marginally cooperative for some crappy but identifiable photos (light was awful). Most of the territories are along the trail running perpendicular to the nature center; I heard the first one singing before I had even started down the hill from the nature center. Other observations of note: Great Egret - 3 flyovers Cedar Waxwings - 600+ White-eyed Vireo - 1 Palm Warbler - 4 Common Yellowthroat - 2 Vesper Sparrow - 1 photographed Purple Finch - 7 flyovers Just outside the park on Old Cleece's Ferry Road, I found a little flock of Savannah Sparrows (one singing) and a baby Killdeer that I almost "dismissed" as a Semipalmated Plover! regards, Chris Sloan Nashville, TN =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to SIGN YOUR MESSAGE with first and last name, CITY (TOWN) and state abbreviation.
