[TN-Bird] Banding

It seems to me that tn-bird is getting off track with some of the posts these
days. Now would someone like to explain why so many birds are being banded? I
know why it was done some years ago, but seems to me field observations will
give us much information. Occasionally you hear of a band being seen or found
in a few cases, but do we really need to band every warbler that comes along?
