Patiently searching through hordes of Yellow-rumpeds pays off again. This morning (22 Jan 2010) I had an "Audubon's" Warbler in the yard. It was working the same butterfly bush where I had one in Oct 2008. I got on the bird from about 30 ft and saw the uniformly dark brown face with broken eye-ring and no trace of pale supercilium, no extension of the pale throat under the ear patch, and triangular yellow throat brightest at the bottom and fading to off-white on the chin. Call note was louder, maybe more emphatic and with a sharper beginning and ending than "Myrtle" Warbler (I'm horrible at describing songs). The bird flew over to a crepe myrtle in the neighbors yard and picked at some of the berries (didn't appear to eat any). I tried calling it in with both Audubon's and Myrtle call notes on the iPhone but it ignored both. Eventually it flew off into the woods.
