Went out to the Brainerd Levee in search of the american black duck. Located at the 1.2 mile marker, from Shallowford Rd. Birded about 3 hrs and got 32 species. Highlights: American black duck (6) Green-winged teal (20) Blue-winged teal (10) Wood duck (2) Gadwall (25) Wilson's snipe (10) Greater yellowlegs (at least 3) Tree swallow (1) Northern shoveler (12) Pied-billed grebe (1) Red-shouldered hawk (2) Also, saw a few sandpipers that I wasn't able to identify, even with a scope, due to the light- ing, glare and distance. Saw behind football field around 0.6-0.8 mile marker. Jim Eager Rock Spring, Ga.
