VNC sends bitmaps down and it's vastly slower than ICA. I'm sure ICA must send GDI commands, some of which will naturally be bitmaps. -----Original Message----- From: Brian Lilley [mailto:Brian.Lilley@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: 14 January 2004 09:23 To: 'thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx' Subject: [THIN] Re: what goes down an ICA pipe?? Thanks Neil, I was wondering how smart ICA is, i.e. I guess it isn't simply sending bit changes, but instead using some kind of x'like instruction set to at least provide pattern repeating/windowing functions? Your synopsis is about on the money. ICA sends partial and full screen updates, X sends instructions (as a very rough and ready comparison).
