We have avoided every new email virus variant for the last 4 years on our Exchange server because we use Trend Micro Scanmail with Emanager and block all attachment types but doc, xls and ppt with it. It isn't rocket science. We bought Trend after the ILoveYou was released. The only viruses we got hit from since then was Nimda and that was because someone used a internet email program internally instead of Outlook and opened an attachment and it saved the eml file on their network drive and it nimda had the ability to jump across our network shares to infect our workstations. We stopped that pretty quickly by ordering a complete shutdown of all systems, cleaned or servers one by one and then stuck the cleanup batch file in ours users profile so it ran the next time they booted up. Even then our Exchange server never got infected.
