fair point - you could specify a centralised .ica on say, a network share.
But then, this is being launched from an app on the client end anyway so
there's that local app to maintain :(
 
Ideally the ctx based app dynamically interogates the client via a virtual
channel like Brian suggested - but thats a whole new ball game. :)

No I didn't say all hope.  :)  It really depends on how many clients and if
they are any good at scripting updates, etc.  as long as your dealing with
an ica file on the client, it does make it more difficult to control.
that's all I'm saying.

Keep in mind that with this solution you lose the centralized management
that is a great part of Metaframe.   Now you have to individually control
every workstation if something needs to change.
