Maybe now we'll get Citrix extended to the Desktop (publish workstation
apps, etc). Been asking for it for years and apparently it's been done
internally but the higher ups said no.

It is interesting, eh?

Check out these there. they all seem to want the same thing? I like the
first article.

I also this we have an awesome solution running "true virtualization",
SoftGrid apps running on VMware distributed OSs, served up by Blades..
(Although, if you truly virtualize, you can deploy to any hardware, although
blades have a lot to offer, that is for sure)

Im slightly confused as to what the IBM vmware and Citrix combination
announcement gives us that we haven'r already got. the document by Steve
Hamm at CDW talks about virtual desktop PC's which is confusing when
comparing it against clear cube et al.

is this announcement what I think it is... i.e. running multiple citrix
servers on multiple vmware servers on blades? if so... well...um yeah... if
not... what am I missing?

What is Application Virtualization?" - Webinar

A Comparison between Softricity SoftGrid, Altiris Software Virtualization
Solution, Citrix Presentation Server 4.0, and Citrix Project Tarpon

At this year's iForum, Citrix made the claim that Presentation Server and
newly announced Project Tarpon is application virtualization software, a
space created and lead by Softricity SoftGrid. This made me think, what is
Application virtualization? To answer this question and clarify the growing
competition in this space, I'm going to be presenting a webinar on Tuesday,
November 1, 2005 at 12:00 PM (Eastern Standard Time) to answer all your
questions and more. This webinar will discuss the differences between
Softricity SoftGrid, Altiris Software Virtualization Solution, and Citrix
Presentation Server 4.0 & Project Tarpon, along with answering the bigger
question: "What is Application Virtualization?"
