Fremont is only about 40 miles from San Francisco, so I would think that's
what you want to have a look at. I've been up that way a few times and saw a
few things in San Francisco. There's Alcatraz, of course, and the Golden
Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf, the cable cars, Lombard street, to name a
few. Search online for tourist attractions in San Francisco, and you'll find
way more than you'll have time for.

  Bear in mind too, that traffic in that whole region is beyond description.
Look at some traffic maps of the area online - it can be ungodly.
