We routinely redirect desktop/start menu to a network share, but it does break All Users, so I wrote an app that creates a shortcut that will show up on all desktops, like the Outlook icon does when you install Office. I thought Jim had it in the downloads section, but I haven't seen it. Regarding the desktop redirection, I understand the concern about refreshing a view of a remote network share. I'd like to see some actual data about the real impact in terms of network usage. -----Original Message----- From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Dogers Sent: Thursday, March 10, 2005 1:17 AM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: User profiles presentation On Thu, 10 Mar 2005 01:40:02 +0800, Jeremy Saunders <jeremy.saunders@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > If you've read through it, page 9 suggests that the "Desktop should not be > redirected". Dont really know why, but thought I'd throw this in:) I seem to recall someone saying a while ago that redirecting the desktop causes the All Users desktop icons to stop working/showing..?
