I doubt your tune will change…Windows 7 is just…right. Almost nothing annoys me
about it.

I just formatted over the weekend, yes there is a lot of Vista there, but a
couple of things that REALLY irked me about Vista:

UAC - Oh what a PITA it was. Windows 7, you actually forget that it's there.

Memory usage - A LOT more of a resource hog. With Windows 7 I am going to
hazard a guess and say that under a typical load, I am using less RAM than XP.

So, first impressions.... Pretty good actually, the device manufacturers have
had a long time to get drivers out there, so device support is pretty good, I
am running X64 of a 2 year old workstation without any problems. I must admit
that the onboard graphics didn't cut it for aero, so I bought a €40 graphics
card...

Most of the reasons for hating Vista aren't there. Then again though, ask me in
a week's time how things are going and I might be singing a different tune.....

Well, that was indeed a good article, but as they said, they having been using
7 for a long time, what it did not address was the major question, WHY, why
should I go through the hassle of upgrading? My ERP software does not play well
with Vista, so my guess is that 7 will be the same, since the majority of what
I am hearing is that 7 is just Vista with a different face, and quite frankly,
I found Vista to be a royal pain in the rear when trying to do basic things
like set network parameters. I fully agree with the saying “If it ain’t broke,
don’t fix it”, and XP worked fine, seems like MS just wanted to rake in more
dough, which is of course why they are in business, but let’s face it, Vista
was not what they promised, and why should I believe 7 will be? So, if anyone
has a good side by side comparison of XP, Vista and 7 that is truly unbiased, I
would like to read it.

Thank You

Hello friends,

As windows 7 has launched so most of us are trying to upgrade it.
But doing this many of us want to know what improvement we will see in
performance, specifically in boot time and speed , like to know stability of
this system etc. Here is a nice article I came across on whether To upgrade or
not to upgrade to Windows 7. Just read it from here,
