VXL thin clients can use the PXE boot. Very cheap and fast.

The T5500 does have flash meemory though. Would it be possible to
configure to totally
boot using PXE? We'd like to get rid of any flash memory on the device.

The t5000 series (with XP embedded) support USB just fine.

USB mouse + keyboard leaves 2 free ports.

I've personally tested USB memory sticks and a USB floppy device, and
we're supporting cameras, smart card readers and PDAs through the USB
ports as well.
