Aha....I didn't doubt you for a minute. I now have no errors (except for the
'My Knowledge features' error message).

As I have two Web Interface servers, is it best to monitor/administer them
in this way, i.e. individually.

No, no...you've misunderstood the interface. Joe said the same thing as
me...just differently. The RPC error is caused when you add Web Interface
Configuration Servers, which is a centralised web interface configuration.
If your Web Interface is configured locally, then there are no WI
configuration servers, and therefore you select None as per what Joe
mentioned.

It is confusing, and a common mistake made by many.
