Hi Thomas,

You could use access permissions to the office suite, but a far better
solution is to selectively change file associations for users wo you don't
want using word etc. Privided you're runnning win2k or later is fairly easy
to redefine, .doc, .ppt .xls etc under HKCU\Software\Classes so that the
users get the appropriate viewers instead of word/powerpoint/excel. We're
doing this ion a few sites and it works really well.

As part of the login script we check whether users are in the office users
group or not, and if not, use a reg file or script to change the file
associations.

Rick

Subject: [THIN] Restricting Access to apps within published apps

Hi,

We publish Windows Explorer to our users. The problem lies where these users
browse to a word document (for example) and double click it to launch it.
This launches word application (if it is installed on the same server that
we publish explorer from). This happens if we whether the user has access to
MS Word through citrix or not. According to Citrix Word is part of the
initial Windows Explorer session.

How can I stop users doing this?

I want the users that have access to Word to be allowed to open it, and
those that don't to be denyed.

Any Ideas? Is this possible?

Thanks in Advance,
Thomas
