Go to the command prompt and type in this command: telnet <your.TS.server.IP.address> 3389 If the command prompt screen goes blank, then you've connected to the TS. Otherwise, you'll get a message saying that you couldn't connect, and you have a network issue rather than a TS issue. Hope this helps. You never get to the point where it prompts for a username and password, the error comes up as soon as you hit OK afte entering the ip address of the server you would like to connect to. -----Original Message----- From: Murphy, Brian [mailto:bmurphy@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx]=20 Sent: Tuesday, October 22, 2002 12:02 PM To: 'thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx' Subject: [THIN] Re: RDP error Is there anything different in regard to the Log On Local right of these two systems? For example, have you defined a different GG for access to this system versus the others? Also, is this system running www and if so are there any restrictions on the Ip Security Tab? -----Original Message----- From: Gordon Olson [mailto:golson@xxxxxxxxxx]=20 Sent: Tuesday, October 22, 2002 2:37 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: RDP error Yes, I have not found another machine that could not connect. It only appears that this machine is having an issue. What is weird is that he can connnect to all servers but two. It is one of those two that we need him on. -----Original Message----- From: Murphy, Brian [mailto:bmurphy@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx]=3D20 Sent: Tuesday, October 22, 2002 11:23 AM To: 'thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx' Subject: [THIN] Re: RDP error Can other devices connect to this server or is it specific to one client device? Have you deleted the license and have it re-try.=3D20 Can you detect if Port 3389 is available from the affected PC's? Ed -----Original Message----- From: Gordon Olson [mailto:golson@xxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, October 22, 2002 1:14 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] RDP error This is sort of strange. I have a client machine that can connect to some of the Terminal Servers and not connect to others. The error from one of the machines is: The client could not establish a connect to the remote machine. I have seen this before when licensing was an issue but when that happens you cannot connect to any TS. All the Terminal Servers are on the same subnet. We can ping. Any ideas? =3D20 Gordon *********************************************** This weeks sponsor Emergent Online http://www.go-eol.com Visit Jim Kenzig of thethin.net at the Emergent Online Booth #221 at Citrix Iforum 2002!
