As you say, I think there is one join.

I haven't watched my DVD of it, yet - but I know many people thought the
movement of the tyres and the silencer box must have been CGI - but
apparently it was done by clever use of counter balance / weighted stuff
added to the insides, just to make them roll a certain way, once given some
inertia.
