I can. We backup our SQL servers nightly so all it really requires is the restore. I was just wondering if CTX was referring to a specific method. adam "Jim Kenzig http://thin.net"; To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx <jimkenz@concentr cc: ic.net> Subject: [THIN] Re: Moving the datastore Sent by: thin-bounce@freel ists.org 07/12/2004 11:28 AM Please respond to thin Why not back it up both ways? -----Original Message----- From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Adam.Baum@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, July 12, 2004 2:26 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Moving the datastore Hi All, We are deploying some new SQL servers and I need to move the datastore to them. According to the CTX documentation, I am supposed to backup the database and restore it to the new server, create a new DSN, and then DSMAINT CONFIG to make all the changes.. Any preferences as to method? Should I use DSMAINT for b/u and restore, or should I use my normal backup software? adam ******************************************************** This weeks sponsor Emergent Online Thinssentials Utilities Using the latest software, hardware, networking technologies, proven technical expertise, proprietary software and best practices, EOL provides custom-tailored solutions for each client?s mission and specific goals. http://www.go-eol.com ********************************************************** Useful Thin Client Computing Links are available at: http://thin.net/links.cfm *********************************************************** For Archives, to Unsubscribe, Subscribe or set Digest or Vacation mode use the below link: http://thin.net/citrixlist.cfm
