We also have not had any issues with the EPO. We have deployed to 36 servers and just under 600 desktops with no issues that we know of. We also have the updaterUi running for each user on citrix but it does not seem to be causing any issues as such. I have to decide the best way to download and get the updates. We have the usual options plus the option to use McAfee EPO which is the what the company would like.
