CTX112075 - Session Shared Applications Take Priority Over Local Applications for the Active Window This document was published at: http://support.citrix.com/article/CTX112075 Document ID: CTX112075, Created on: Feb 8, 2007, Updated: Feb 8, 2007 Products: Citrix MetaFrame XP 1.0 for Microsoft Windows 2000, Citrix MetaFrame XP 1.0 for Microsoft Windows 2003, Citrix MetaFrame Presentation Server 3.0 for Microsoft Windows 2000, Citrix MetaFrame Presentation Server 3.0 for Microsoft Windows 2003, Citrix Presentation Server 4.0 for Microsoft Windows 2000, Citrix Presentation Server 4.0 for Microsoft Windows 2003 Symptoms Session shared applications take priority over local applications for the active window. Reproduction Launch an application in a seamless ICA session. Launch a local application (for example, Internet Explorer) and leave it as the active window. Launch a second application in a seamless ICA session. This application shares a session with the first seamless application. Leave the second seamless application as the active window. Minimize the application launched in Step 3. Instead of seeing Internet Explorer as the active window, the application launched in Step 1 becomes the active window. Cause This behavior is by design. Published applications launched in seamless ICA sessions with session sharing are actually one single ICA session where the server desktop is hidden from the ICA client display. By pressing SHIFT+F2 while the two published applications are running, it becomes clear that the first published application takes the focus as it uses the same ICA display. Workaround Disable session sharing as described in CTX101644 ? Seamless Configuration Settings. Status An enhancement request has been submitted and this may be included as a feature in future versions of Presentation Server. More Information CTX159159 ?
