The default max for page pool on Windows 2000 is 160 MB. You might be able to
increase that value. Check out the
following KB articles for instructions on how to determine if the paged pool
size can be increased.

FYI, this is a really good reason to upgrade to Windows 2003. Windows 2003 has
much higher kernel memory limits.

Only happens on 4 of 6 servers, supplying same apps., and only on Thurs. late
am to early PM.

You may also have simply too many users on the system and ran out of kernel
memory and need to expand.

When I get this, my only recourse is to reboot the server. I watched an MS
webcast on this error and they say it's a kernel mode driver not releasing
memory. The webcast goes on to provide all sorts of useful (and time
intensive) steps to figure out which driver is causing the problem. I get
this error mostly on my PDC Emulator.

I get this.

The server was unable to allocate from the system paged pool because the
pool was empty.

W2K SP4
PS 4.0

Once that error begins, users can not connect to the server anymore. I
knock a few users out, all is well.
