We have at most 10 users, and we only use MSTS because they are in
Different buildings pretty far apart, and copper or fibre are not
An option, so we use 802.11b line-of-sight wireless. With normal
Connections, it was so slow no one could get anything done. Now
With MSTS it is much faster, but except for licenses and a couple of
WinTerms, it was free, and the boss really likes free. I suggested
Citrix, but he said I could do anything, as long as it didn't involve
Money. We have 3 Terminal Servers and users sometimes 'accidentally'
Shut them down, or other such things, we don't do load balancing,
because I don't know how, and roaming profiles do not work, so if
A user wants consistent Outlook or desktop, they need to connect to
The same server each time, and of course though there are only three,
The users forget. Yes I have very little hair, and yes it is grey!

Thank You

Depending on the amount of users, powerfuse is a good alternative...not
in thin but more in the management ways...like prevention of users doing
things they ain't suppose to do and making sure they see the apps and
printers they're suppose to.

Hello to everyone in [THIN] land, I have a question regarding this
group. We use MS Terminal Services, for various reasons we will not be
going to Citrix Anytime soon, (The boss says 'We make tile, we are not a
tech company...), so We are kind of stuck here, so my question is this,
this group seems to focus mainly On Citrix, is there a better group for
MSTS? Or is there a real 'cheap' version Of Citrix? The boss like
'cheap'. I tried the angle of 'it will raise revenues',
No good! He is 'frugal'! Anyway, thanks for any an all info anyone can
offer.

Thank You
