I have recommended wyse terminals to a number of small clients in the past. Lucky for me, these clients never intended to leverage Rapport, which I gather from recent threads, is a poor product indeed. However, while the management of a large number of thin-clients makes wyse a poor decision, there is still the issue of features. I have only worked with two thin-clients, wyse and HP t5500. Wyse meets the "Power User Acceptability Test", in that those users who are comfortable with keyboard shortcuts enjoy such features as the windows key activating within the remote desktop. The hp thin client failed this test. Striking the windows key starts the local thin-start menu. I even tried running the client in kiosk mode. Two interesting things occurred. A full-screen published desktop still showed a small bar of space along the bottom of the thin client's desktop, where the system tray would be. If I set the system tray to auto hide, and then set the environment for kiosk mode, the published app would take up the full screen, but the Start Button caused the invisible system tray to appear on top of the published app. So, to end this long post, I am looking for testimonials of thin clients from a usability perspective and a management perspective if such a device exists. I see that neoware has been mentioned often, but how rich is the user's experience while in a TS or Citrix session?
