Platinum does run faster on the Windows 2000 servers. Also are you using Pervasive? -----Original Message----- From: Chris Lynch [mailto:lynch00@xxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, September 26, 2002 11:10 AM To: TheThin. net Subject: [THIN] Epicor (or commonly known as Platinum) tweaks? -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 We use Epicor 7.0b as our financial package, and we also have it installed on our current farm, which is MF 1.8 FR1 SP3 running on top of Windows NT 4 TSE SP6. We are moving to XPa FR2 on Windows 2000 SP2. I wanted to know if anyone out there uses Epicor, and if so, does anyone have any registry tweaks so the application responds better? According to our end users, it the DB transactions tend to run slowly, and I know for a fact it isn't the DB server nor the network. The DB server is a Dell PowerEdge 8450 six-way PIII 900 Zeon system. The network has a backbone Cisco 6509, that has almost no utilization on it what so ever. So every packet transmitted should be close to wire speed. Any tips would be appreciated.
