They are 82541 adaptors. Intel says they are Pro. So I
can't use this ProSet software wtih 82541 ?

----------------------Original message-------------------
For Intel ProSet NICs, failover or teaming is set using
Windows software.
We run it with pairs of gigabit NICs here. It's part of
the latest driver
suite for Intel's ProSet series.

Hope this helps.

That is setup in the bios on startup right ?

I didn't see anything like that but I sure will look again.

On Compaqs this is easy. I would be surprised
if other vendprs don't have such. They call
it NIC Teaming. I even have a Giga fiber
as primary with a 100 Mbit copper for failover....

Interesting concept. If you get this to work automatically,
I'd be
interested in knowing how. :-)

I have a citrix XPe box running and it has Dual Inetel
10/100/1000 nics in it. I am trying to get win2k to do a
failover to the second nic if something would happen to the
first.

I can't do this at the switch because they have a very
small network....
