Do you have Outlook open and get a lot of mail? Or something
else in the systray?

There is something wrong with Desktops running on my Windows XP
PC.

Whenever I switch to Desktop 2 or 3 or 4, it switches me back to
Desktop 1 after a couple of seconds.

Could it be Symantec AV? I've rebooted the PC. I'm not liking
it so far.

Speaking of Virtual Desktops, I am digging Spaces on
the Mac. When I launch or switch applications it automatically goes to
the Space assigned for that application. No need use the hotkey (which
are available) or icon to switch spaces. Firefox runs in one, Fusion in
another, RDC Client in a third, etc.

The guys at Sysinternals Microsoft have released Yet
another app. This one is called Desktops.

Desktops allows you to organize your applications on up
to four virtual desktops. Read email on one, browse the web on the
second, and do work in your productivity software on the third, without
the clutter of the windows you're not using. After you configure hotkeys
for switching desktops, you can create and switch desktops either by
clicking on the tray icon to open a desktop preview and switching
window, or by using the hotkeys.
