I don't have any problems accessing the moved datastore on the second
domain, I have pointed a server at it and ima service starts ok.

The main problem is with old users accounts from old domain remaining in the
datastore causing weird problems.

1st I had to run slimjim so I could access things in the management console
before I could do anything. I have then tried to tidy up anything referring
to old users, but some things would not remove properly at all.

Is there an easier way of doing this? Or what am I doing wrong?

If you are using local authentication with the database, or using a
domain user account for that database within the domain the db server
is a member of, you shouldn't have any issues.

There are no trusts, it's a totally separate domain.
