Did you say that a client machine has automatic updates going which
kills the server or the server itself??? The other thing to check is
power settings on the server's NIC. <--this can cause problems similar
to the one you describe

Subject: [THIN] Am I on a wrong track? Local Windows update messing up
Citrix / Terminal Server

Hi list,

We have a Citrix farm in which occasionally one of the servers becomes
inaccessible (KVM and network). The only thing to do is restart it with
the On/Off switch. We've been researching this for months now (it only
occurs about twice a month) but didn't find a solution. This week the
issue occurred with only 4 users on the server (Published Desktop). I
couldn't find anything in the RMS reports and I had a look at the
ISA-logs (iexplore was present in the reports). About the time the issue
occurred there was a occurrence of a Windows update connection. I
resolved the IP-address and it turned out to be the local address of a
client having an ICA connection with the server involved.

Now the question is, cause I don't see any logic, could the local
Windows Update be the reason the terminal server becomes inaccessible or
am I on a wrong track?
