[THIN] Re: 1.8 to XP - browsing fails

Is the "test box" a member of an existing "Farm". When you upgrade to
XP the published applications on that system are automatically upgraded
and should be accessible immediately.

However, if this system is not the only system within the farm then you
will run into several documented issues. Most of these pertain to
"load-balanced" apps across a mixed farm. By default your XP
installation would be in "native mode".

The other problem you could encounter is bringing an XP Farm "online"
when you have other 1.8 servers on the same SUBNET.

This causes the native mode farm to NOT respond to client broadcasts.
In this case you would need to HARD CODE the client.

Ok... I'm sure it has to do with my ignorance of XP, but I upgraded my =
test box which was running Metaframe 1.8 on 2000 to XPa. After doing =
so, my terminals can no longer browse to find the published applications
= or the server by what used to be ica browsing. When searching, they
now = report that no Citrix servers are found on the network.

I'm assuming XP operates differently for this. Is there no more ICA =
browsing under XP, if so, do I need to specify on each client the citrix
=
server name or ip address? By doing this, will it still load balance =
somehow? Thanks.

Derek, I wouldn't mind a copy of the template myself.

Thanks,
Paul
