Convenient OCR for PDF documents containing columns as well as documents that are not oriented right side up has been improved. j.. JAWS performance in various edit fields, edit combos, and edit spin boxes has been improved. k.. When the Windows logon screen appears, JAWS now only announces the currently selected user instead of reading all of the users with accounts on the computer. l.. In the Voice Adjustment dialog box, when attempting to change the Pitch and Rate sliders, an issue was addressed where the current percentage was not spoken each time the ARROW keys were pressed unless the percentage actually changed. This was observed when using Vocalizer Expressive.
m.. Resolved issues with modifying voice aliases.
n.. Resolved an issue where the OK button in the Voice Adjustment dialog box was not available after applying a change to the Eloquence voice profile. o.. When performing a Say All using Vocalizer Expressive, addressed a customer reported issue where JAWS would pause at the end of a line even if Say All was configured for Line without pauses. p.. A customer using Eloquence reported that the same default pitch was being used for each voice. This is now resolved. q.. Resolved an issue with JAWS not speaking file names in the Open File dialog box in various applications in Windows 8.1. r.. When navigating through the list of recently installed updates in Windows 8.1 using TAB or SHIFT+TAB, resolved an issue where JAWS would only announce the installation date and whether or not it was successful, but not the actual update that was installed. s.. Updated the tutor help and screen-sensitive help (INSERT+F1) messages for the File Explorer ribbons in Windows 8.1.
t.. Resolved issues with exiting WordPad in Windows 8.1.
u.. A customer reported that when you use ALT+CTRL+PAGE UP or ALT+CTRL+PAGE DOWN to temporarily decrease or increase the voice rate and then switch to another application, all voices were returned to the default rate except the Keyboard voice. This has been resolved. v.. Addressed a customer reported issue with speech sometimes being cut off when using JAWS with a Plantronics headset.

When performing a JAWS Find on a Web page and nothing is found, JAWS no longer says "search string not found" multiple times. c.. Resolved an issue where pressing INSERT+UP ARROW in a password edit field after you entered a password was not speaking the asterisks as expected. This made it look like the field was empty. d.. Updated the hot key help (INSERT+H) to include the Navigation Quick Key SLASH for moving to the next clickable element on a Web page. This was also addressed for hot key help in Firefox.
Microsoft Lync
a.. Addressed a customer reported issue with the Microsoft Lync application where messages typed into the chat window were not being spoken or shown in braille. b.. If the JAWS or Invisible cursor is active in the message list, resolved an issue where the command to read or spell the current word was not working as expected. c.. When saving an attachment, addressed an issue where JAWS was not speaking the contents of the File Name edit field unless INSERT+UP ARROW was used to read the current line. e.. In Outlook 2010, when navigating through the results in the Advanced Search dialog box, resolved an issue where only the message status, such as "Replied" or "Unread", was being displayed in braille.

JAWS now announces the bullets in a bulleted list even when the Indentation option in Quick Settings is set to Indicate. e..
