The wind map shows a large high pressure center over the central Gulf. Circulation around this high should take birds around its western side which extends from extreme NE Tamaulipas up the coast of southern Texas and beyond into the southern plains and lower Mississippi Valley if the map is an accurate determining factor for anticipationg migrating birds. By midmorning Brownsville NEXRAD was showing the familiar "donut" image of birds overflying the station headed N. This was beginning to show at Corpus but not further NE along the coast. This makes sense given the far S location of Brownsville. This will bear watching through the day, but probably it will involve mostly circam-Gulf migrants. John C.
