No sightings of the owl were reported during the daylight hours. At dusk, half
an hour after sunset, it was seen moving west from its usual roosting area in
the thicket at the Warbler Rest Stop, adjacent to the SPI Convention Center, to
the thicket across the sidewalk. It was quickly tracked to a branch supporting
a
hummingbird feeder near the gazebo. It remained perched for several minutes,
affording open views, if dim ones, to all of the waiting 15-20 birders.
