Water flowed in slowly and has already stopped. The change didn't seem to disturb the ducks - all the usual species were easy to spot from either Ebony or Kiskadee deck today. The deck at Hog Trail (off of Flycatcher) is still dry. A Yellow-bellied Sapsucker was working the trees close to the tram road today. It can regularly be found along the road between the corner at Mesquite Trail and North Mexican Olive Trail. Another nice surprise was a Wilson's Snipe at the 2nd bridge - working the mud on the left side - and three Common Yellowthroat. We haven't been seeing many recently. -- Sherry Wilson Resident Park Host Resaca de la Palma State Park 1000 New Carmen Road Brownsville, TX 78521 956-350-2920 Bird Walks every Saturday - 8:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Butterfly Walks every Sunday - 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. Night Hikes every Friday (must RSVP by 5:00 p.m. Thurs) - small fee Nature Tram Rides - Wednesday thru Sunday http://www.facebook.com/resacadelapalma DIRECTIONS: The main entrance to Resaca de la Palma State Park is located on New Carmen Blvd. From Expressway 77/83, exit at Olmito, take FM 1732, follow for 2.5 miles; turn left at New Carmen Road; follow for 1.5 miles; shortly after the gravel hump in the road, turn left to enter the park. *Learn how you can help Texas State Parks:* http://bit.ly/sVdilb Edit your Freelists account settings for TEXBIRDS at //www.freelists.org/list/texbirds Reposting of traffic from TEXBIRDS is prohibited without seeking permission from the List Owner
