Hello, Texbirders, We've had some interesting birds these past couple of days hanging out at the North Pond here at the Edinburg Scenic Wetlands & World Birding Center. The Black Skimmer discovered yesterday morning was again skimming at North Pond early this morning and disappeared by mid morning (nice bird to get away from the coast). The pair of Ringed Kingfishers also discovered yesterday continued through today and were easily seen and heard all day from the North Pond overlook. A Purple Gallinule was a great surprise this morning, seen briefly at the southeastern corner of North Pond climbing a tree growing from the pond bank (a very secretive bird). Good birding to all, -Naturalist Assistant Javi Gonzalez Edinburg, Hidalgo Co.
