Hi, all!
This month's Birder Patrol trip (taking place next Saturday, the 22nd) will
be to Laguna Seca Road. We'll be road-birding this beautiful area of
ranchland, thornscrub, and mesquite savannah (bring walkie-talkies if you
have them), and looking for associated birds such as White-tailed and
Harris' Hawks, Caracara, Roadrunner, Bobwhite, Pyrrhuloxia, sparrows, and
maybe even Wild Turkeys (a "Fuertes'" Hawk has been hanging around the area
consistently as well.)!
Meet at the Flying J travel plaza in Edinburg on Monte Cristo and US 281
(the freeway, not Business 281), in the area of the parking lot closest to
the northbound frontage road, at 7:15. Cost is $5.00 per person, and all
proceeds go to the educational endeavors of the Arroyo Colorado Audubon
Society.
See you there! MB
