Hi all,
Reid and I looked for and were successful in locating Monk Parakeets near the
Old Hidalgo Pump House in Hidalgo from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m. today, along with a
Clay-colored Thrush in the same area. Here are the exact locations:
Locations: Just west on Gardenia at the intersection of 5th and Gardenia --
left side of the road where a new nest is being constructed on an electrical
pole, 2 Monk Parakeets were observed. Then just south on 5th past the
intersection with Gardenia there is a huge existing nest on the east side of
the street where more nest construction is ongoing between 2 parakeets. The
Clay-colored Thrush was in the tree just to the right of the nest pole. There
also was a noisy flock of 6 parakeets flying around in this neighborhood.
