at least 3 calling and sometimes singing Louisiana waterthrushes went
upbayou a bit ago in what is a normal fall migration path with birds
following the bayou west.
I assume that these are daytime circum-gulf travelers or at least day time
migrants. Or perhaps not migrants doing the 200 mile per night bit but
birds that feed as they go sort of like eastern kingbirds etc. Not quite
like a line of trees and shrubs along the coast but the bayou does make a
good leading edge for movers.

Someday, I will have to sit out there for a few hours and play calls
periodically to try and lure more birds to call. The wind is sort of
northeast ahead of the purported tropical weather coming that probably has
them moving.
