I forgot to post the least grebe I had at shoveler pond last week. I think
it was my first ever at that particular spot.
It called just after I passed it but I was able to back up and get a good
luck before it dove and never came up while visible.
It was on the first (north) side of the shoveler pond loop just at the west
end of the last pulloff before turning south toward the bay. As usual it
was back at the edge of the vegetation. It only called once before
vanishing.
