********************************************************************************** Made 3 trips into "my" local birding area today, two with friends. Early morning (pretty dead), around noon (picking up), 4:30P+ ( quite lively) Thrushes and other "mulberry birds" still coming. Lots of the the expected thrushes will all species noted except Gray-cheeked...Blue and Rose-breasted Grosbeaks, buntings, cuckoos and tanagers. Still not many warblers tho they were increasing slightly when I quit around 6:30.. When I got back, we sat out on the deck and watched Orchard Orioles coming off in bay. One male was trying to nectar off a blooming Cape-honeysuckle and hibiscus only 6-8 feet in front of us ,oblivious to the fact we were there...He was tuckered. My favorite was a male Prairie Warbler....don't get them here all that often. -- Brush Freeman 361-655-7641 Cell http://texasnaturenotes.blogspot.com/ Finca Alacranes., Utley,Texas Edit your Freelists account settings for TEXBIRDS at //www.freelists.org/list/texbirds Reposting of traffic from TEXBIRDS is prohibited without seeking permission from the List Owner
