If you plan to come on the bird walk tomorrow, you will definitely want to bring muck boots/waders with you. Monday's rain filled up our wetlands, and it is impossible to get to Target Pond or past Moccasin Marsh to the Hawk Tower without getting your feet wet. All of the water could make for an interesting bird walk. A Solitary Sandpiper was seen from the Hawk Tower today, and Kendra thought she may have heard Rusty Blackbirds flying overhead. The bird walk is free. Meet at the nature center at 8:30 AM. All levels of birders are welcome as are all ages. After the bird walk and a break for lunch, Stephan Lorenz will be here to present a program about the shorebirds of the Upper Texas Coast from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM. Hope you can join us.
