[texbirds] High Island fallout notes

Thursday morning when Brush said to drop everything and rush to the coast, I
called my wife and by 1:00 we were on our way to High Island from Austin. We
arrived at High Island about 4 hours later without getting a speeding ticket
and picked up about 2 hours of the fallout at Smith Oaks Sanctuary. Friday
was almost as good.
I have been birding off and on for over 50 years and I had never experienced a
fallout of Hollywood proportions. This fallout helped me to pad my photo
Big Year by 19 new birds for a total of 367.
