Migrants put in a decent showing at Lafitte's Cove and vicinity today. I came up with 12 warbler species at Lafitte's along with other migrants like Painted Bunting, Yellow-billed Cuckoo, Red-eyed Vireos, etc. Several shorebird species were present on the front ponds and quite a few hawks were heading over with 3 Swainson's, 1 Broad-winged, and 2 Mississippi Kites. Noteworthy at Galveston Island SP was a flock of 50 Franklin's Gulls headed NE. They were briefly seen a short while later headed over Lafitte's Cove as well. Two Western Kingbirds were still present along Settegast Road with a large number of Eastern Kingbirds. A late male Redhead was feeding in a pond along Stewart Road at the intersection with 8 mile.
