Hi all: Well, unfortunately no repeat, not even a modest echo, of yesterday's great landbird flight. I did see a few Swallow-tailed Kites and a couple of perambulating Crested Caracaras (see blog post; http://smithpointhawkwatch.wordpress.com/2013/09/05/5-september-herons-not-many-passerines/). I also provided solutions to a couple of semi-quiz photos, and provided a new quiz photo. Take a stab at it! Oh, and I've also calculated the number of Blue-gray Gnatcatchers that I've tallied so far this year. Well, really, eBird did it for me -- one of the great benefits of using eBird! The Raptor ID workshop that I'll be teaching during the last weekend of this month will have its registration close on 16 September. So, if you've been fence-sitting, hop off onto one side or another!
