Free at Kleb Woods Nature Center this Friday, April 5th, Kendra Kocab will be presenting iPhone as a Birding Tool. The program will be from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The class starts by covering a few iPhone basics, including saving battery power and organizing your apps. She will then talk about apps that already come on the phone that are useful to birders such as maps, voice memos, and the camera. Finally, she will talk about several birding apps that can be downloaded to your phone, including Kendra's Top 4 Essential Bird Apps. These apps will help you identify birds, learn their calls, see range maps and species information, record sightings, and more. There will be plenty of time for questions during the class. If you have a non-bird related iPhone question, Kendra will be available after class to help, so start thinking about problems you've had or things you'd like to know how to do with your phone. Please note that this class is specifically for Apple iPhones. If you have any other smart phone(such as a Droid or a Samsung Galaxy), some of the information about the apps might be helpful, but not all iPhone apps are available on other smart phones and how you perform specific functions will be different. Kendra is our under-30 staff member phone whiz, but fear not, she has extensive experience teaching various I-phone classes to seniors.
