This morning I headed north of Weslaco to check the area wet spots. We need
rain!

Sugar House Pond on FM 1425 north of FM 107 - Water is still high with little
shore for shorebirds. Nine species of ducks was pretty good for July.

FM 1015 Pond east of Delta Lake - Water is low with good mudflats. A Willet

Terns and Black-necked Stilts with chicks.

Delta Lake on FM 88 - Water is high on the east side but low with good mudflats
on the west side of FM 88. Nothing really unusual but lots of good variety.
This spot needs to be checked frequently for juicy Hidalgo County shorebirds.
Best stuff today were Wood Storks, Black Skimmers, four species of terns and a
Pectoral Sandpiper.
