Birded Corpus Christi for a couple hours yesterday. On Carbon Plant Road just north of the Veterans Cemetary, there was a large concentration of waders in a small wooded pond with at least 55 Wood Stork, 150+ Snowy Egret, ~80 Roseate Spoonbills, plus others. Migration seems to have started or there are some summering birds because I found about 20 Black Terns, many Wilson's Phalarope, 8 Lesser Yellowlegs, 200+ Peeps (I think mainly Least's), and 2 Long-billed Curlew. Also about 7 more Wood Storks at Tule Lake. -- Corey Lange Graduate Research Assistant Caesar Kleberg Wildlife Research Institute Texas A&M University Kingsville 641.344.8122 Edit your Freelists account settings for TEXBIRDS at //www.freelists.org/list/texbirds Reposting of traffic from TEXBIRDS is prohibited without seeking permission from the List Owner
