A good question! It baffled me to seen thousands of cranes in the cotton on
CR1181. Are they hunting mice? Do they eat cotton seeds? Are they just using it
for cover?

Howdy Texbirders (and Happy Thanksgiving),
A question for this forum (guess I'm being a bit lazy not to research the
answer). What do Sandhill Cranes find enticing about cotton fields? Grain
fields I understand, but am unsure as to why they go into the cotton fields.
Thanks to any and all that reply
