A cold, breezy afternoon at Anzalduas County Park gave me a few good birds for the new county year list. Just about all of the action was in the playground area adjacent to the boat dock. Consorting with a flock of 20 American Goldfinches were a Pine Siskin, a Black-throated Gray Warbler, a Pine Warbler, two Eastern Bluebirds and five House Finches. Also present were Black Phoebe and Vermillion Flycatchers. I walked the pipit field but had no luck with Sprague's. The grass may be too short.
