So, I had a high school golf tournament at the "Golf Club of Texas" in far(?) western San Antonio. I couldn't bear to ignore the birds though. Least Grebes, Black-bellied Whistling-Ducks, Least Sandpipers and a Greater Yellowlegs were some highlights. Also, there are at least four nesting pairs of Curve-billed Thrashers and the Scissor-tailed Flycatchers were not shy or quiet, but topped by Northern Mockingbirds. Overall, I was quite surprised by the abundance of birds, though there are a few ponds, because the course itself is mostly brown.
