You have received this email because you were a hardware customer of
VA Linux Systems, Inc. In 2001, VA sold its Linux server business to
California Digital Corporation and changed its name to VA Software
Corporation. Because this is the final email that VA will send to its
former hardware customer list, you will not need to send requests to
unsubscribe.

As President and Chief Operating Officer of VA, I wanted to thank you for
your past support. The support of customers like you enabled us to help
define the Linux server market.

As you know, with the deteriorating economic situation of 2001, VA exited
the server business in July, and changed its focus to providing the
SourceForge collaborative software development platform.

Many of you have since asked us questions about availability of servers,
spare parts and technical support.

I am pleased to announce that VA has sold its server business to
California Digital Corporation. Several VA veterans have joined
California Digital in the areas of sales, operations, engineering and
 technical support.

California Digital has acquired product designs and inventory from VA and
is hence able to continue shipping, for example, the 2230 and 1220 Linux
servers designed by VA. California Digital's engineers have also
developed newer versions of these popular servers incorporating new
technology released in the past six months.

In addition to shipping new servers, California Digital can also provide
spare parts fully qualified for use in existing VA systems, as well as
warranty extensions, technical support for some systems and
 out-of-warranty service.

I hope that VA's relationship with California Digital will help provide
a smooth transition for our former server customers. Please contact
California Digital at 1-888-LINUX-4-U for Linux and server related
inquiries, or visit their web site at http://www.californiadigital.com/

Of course, please call VA Software at 1-877-825-4689 for SourceForge and
OSDN-related inquiries, or visit us on the web at
 http://www.vasoftware.com/

Ali Jenab
President and Chief Operating Officer
VA Software Corporation
